JP4/C2 Heads ???

  1. #1
Looking at buying a 106 gti some time next week and its got a JP4 head fitted to it.
Tbh i dont know anything about them, i have done a search but no one gives a yes or no answer.

Do you need to get new/forged pistons so they dont hit/bend the valves? some people say yes others say no

heres the spec if that makes any difference:
    GTI engine
    JP4 Head
    Kent pt51 cams

    Cheers

why do people fit the jp4 head? does it have a smaller compression chamber hightening the compression slightly?

Oil cap doesnt leak either, minor but bit of a flaw with the J4 I know a lot of people get pissed with. How much bigger are the valves etc I dont know much about it myself

the c2 lump well the inlet valves are 2.5mm bigger, exhaust valve bigger, the head can cope better with bigger valves. just need better valve springs to cope with 280 cams etc..
