#2I had one in my old saxo, i put it next to the hazerd light button.
and il do it again when i get the chance. -
#3I've got one. Novelty does wear off, lol. Mine's down by my gearstick
-
#4Mines on centre console on the gear shift one though

-
#5i wouldnt ind one of them...
-
#6novelty does wear off +1 i hardly use mine anymoree.
-
#7replace the ciggy lighter?
-
#8Predatorvtr what's that thing made out of in the centre console infront of the gear stick? The thing covering the hole...bad explanation i know
-
#9Its an ipod holder mate
just mdf, i did a guide in the ice stickies
I have to use starter button to start car as the keys dont do it, all about how you wire it up -
#10^Did you make it yourself?
-
#11Yeah mate, check the guide out, can knock one up in about 4 hours from start to finish including trimming it
1 user thanked this post: -
#12i think itd be quite good to have 1 tbh - never even thought of it
-
#13if the engines on and you press the button does it turn on the starter motor. cause if i fitted one all my mates would press it whilst the engines on.
also with it do you have to turn the key all the way (3 clicks), and then press the button? -
#14This is a good point... how would this effect the immobiliser with doing 1 click first?
-
#15You still have to turn the key to ignition on mine then press the starter button
like a said its all bout how you wire it you can wire it in to use bothe button and key to start, you just basically tape the wire up from the barrel side for just the button ad splice into it for using both
tbh i think its a good security mod, i put the button down by the handbrake and not many criminals wil lthink a button will start the car, i know its says engine start but you can turn the bezel round so its just red which i keep meaning to do -
#16ive got mine in the fag lighter hole, needs gluing in, i keep poking it through haha
-
#18Is there a guide to wiring 1 up as my key does not start the engine so it will be ideal for me
-
#19yer id like to see a guide for this, maybe something for pred to sort out
-
#20Mines up in the headlining, just in front of interior light
-
#21ah that a kool place, got a pic?
also just thought you could maybe put on in the visor it the buttons not too deep -
#22In yours this seems fine, however if you were to wire this up so it didnt require the key - would it not pose a huge security risk as there is no way i can see of using the immobiliser? plus the fact that by the sounds of it you would only have to forget to lock your car once and some little bitch decides to come in a see a big nice button that shows "ignition"???Quote:You still have to turn the key to ignition on mine then press the starter button

#23i would quite like a keypad instead of a button
-
#25why would anyone wire it up so your dont need a key anyway?Quote:In yours this seems fine, however if you were to wire this up so it didnt require the key - would it not pose a huge security risk as there is no way i can see of using the immobiliser? plus the fact that by the sounds of it you would only have to forget to lock your car once and some little bitch decides to come in a see a big nice button that shows "ignition"???
-
#26yes i would like to see a guide for this too
would need a guide because havent got a clue when
its comes to somthing like that
luke -
#28You cant really bypass the immobiliser without the key anyway mate, older cars yes but newer cars not a chanceQuote:In yours this seems fine, however if you were to wire this up so it didnt require the key - would it not pose a huge security risk as there is no way i can see of using the immobiliser? plus the fact that by the sounds of it you would only have to forget to lock your car once and some little bitch decides to come in a see a big nice button that shows "ignition"???
And there is a guide i did
-
#29Exactly my point, it was said earlier about the 2 ways of wiring it up- one such way disables the key ignition.Quote:how would you turn the ignition off?
why not get a big flashing sign saying "steal me"?
If for arguments sake you wire it up so you are able to use the key as well, does this not make the button ABSOLUTLEY pointless???? may as well get a sticker and save yourself the wiring??? -
#31i would wire it up so you turn the ignition on with the key and just have a button to start it. looks flash with you mates in the car but is absoulutly pointless.
it tells you exacly how to wire it in the haynes saxo modifying manuel.
theres one in the for sale section -
#32Its a gadget tbh i love gadgets, only reason i got one
Personal preference at the end of the day, not impractical if it actually works
Max power haynes manual does tell you how to wire it up but its wrong for some saxos -
#33I guess so mate - suppose it could look pretty suave for a few weeks ;-)
-
#35Novelty hasnt wore off for me tbh
-
#38good idea, how much am i looking at to do it?
-
#40So what would happen if you turned the key to the starter click, would the car start? Or have you bypassed that completely so it doesnt work?
-
#41Yes it wont work turning key, key still has to be in but engine only starts with button
all you have to dois wire it straight to the starter button relay rather than splicing into the ignition wire -
#42mines in where the headunit should be along with fuel pump switch and fan switch
