Problem with Tapping

   Hello all,
   
   Got a slight problem with some tapping coming from the tappets area
   
   Although its not my tappets, ive had them changed and it sounds like its coming from under it took it to a few garages who just said ..... hmmmmm thats new to me!!! (great lot of help that is) Has anyone got an idea what it could be as i feel stupid driving around with this noise, its a really clicky sound and gets louder when i accelerate.
   
   My work mechanic has changed the tappets and they work fine now, im doing a complete oil change and new filter etc with some slick 50 that i was reccommended to use so not sure if that could do anything either.
   
   Any help would be appreciated as i love my little car

   could be the waterpump bearing dont know just a suggestion!

   your mechanic probably hasnt set your tappets correct.
   
   or if you hvae had your belt changed your timing could be out.

   What do you mean by 'change the tappets', did he change the whole rocker gear or something?
   
   Sounds like the tappets need adjusting. There's a decent guide in the haynes for doing it - just make sure the engine is cold when you do it.

   as above get the haynes out and try adjusting them, have you got much oil in your engine?
