Coilover, need some advise

  1. #1
So I´m trying to make my own coilover, and I know many of you have them already!

So I was looking for and I found this http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product...oducts_id=3450 is it good or don´t you raccomand that?
Now I have b8 I want to go down to -4 more or less, I think I would need based on this: http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/sh...ad.php?t=54418 250lb/inch springs, but my doubt remains wich helper could I use? which lb/inch?
To mount it I have to put it to same level, 2" that will not be difficult I think from 51,5mm the original part and 53 the part for the spring...
How can I fix the threded tube?advises? thanks to everyone who will help me and sorry for my bad english!
    cheers

Forgot to tell, do I need solid topmounts or is it only for the track? cause i´ll use it a lot on street! so i didn´t want it to be too hard.
When i´ll only go on trackdays with it I would put them on, maybe adjusteble

the conversion kit from rd only really works for solid top mounts which probaly wont be all that good over a normal uk road. they weld on to the strut too.

sounds like ur best set up would b to use the pug sprt grp n kit, it uses a 3' dia spring and standard top mount, grp n top mount with harder rubber if u prefer

    thanks man for the advise!
could you also tell me where I can buy it? the link I posted is it any good?

just google special tuning and ull find what u need.

i didnt look at it for long but seems like it could help you pick a spring rate, id probaly use a 6' main and 4' helper spring from faulkners

h&r make a converter spring pan to run the smaller spring the rally design setup uses to run standard topmounts

    i´ve looked, so I would need :
    - top strut mounting
    - threaded adaptor sleeve
    - bottom spring pan
    - Locking Ring for Bottom Pan
    - top spring pan
    - front spring gravel...or with the faulkners

but wich helper would I match to a 225lb/inch spring or 250 ?

the only thing is the kit is very expensive, if I would use this http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product...oducts_id=3450, matched with the top strut mounting for Gr N?
with faulkeners spring...sure i should adapt the threaded tube!
