stub pins

people that make the stub pins/recon rear beams.

what material did you use? when i have been making them i made them from hardened steel, with a rocwell hardness of 42.
looks like the standards have been made from a very soft steel as they are RC hardness 10 in the middle then RC hardness 50 on the bearing surface.

no-one that refurbs the beams know what material they use?

might not last long if your not using hard enough steel.

To my knowledge the only people on here that do the full refurb inc stub pins is jpsaxo and piggy123.

    Worth giving them a PM

ive got some material that should be hard enough, was just wondering what material you's used.
any chance you could find out the rocwell hardness for me though? want them to last long enough.

cheers, ive made some from 42 so it should be fine. the material i ahve used is alredy hardned so will go brittle if i try to harden it any more, and havent got long enough lengths of EN30, which could be hardend to 50, to make them from.

would cost alot for me to buy just a metre length of EN30 aswell.
