#2I'd like some info on this as well please!
Is this something that can easily be done at home?.. Take the panels off, mask them up, prime them then spray them?... Shit results or good?... If so anyone reccomends a paint?
Im wanting to spray mine silver.. -
#3Just mask up and sand with wet and dry, the texture comes off completely stupidly easily. Did all mine last week in satin;
-
#4Can you get those kind of results doing it with silver.....?? Coz that looks factory finish...
-
#5Its near on impossible to get a clean finish on silver over large areas without a compressor and a booth mate unfortunately. See if you know anyone with a mate whos a sprayer. A mate of mine did my front bumper silver for £40
-
#6sand it down yourself, then go to a bodyshop for a respray if you want a perfect result.
-
#7ah nice, well funnily enough my mate works with someone who does spraying...
Can you guys reccomend a type of paint and primer? Im after Quartz Silver... -
#8^ plastic primer from halfords is fine
-
#9Ok so thats the primer sorted.. Do I need to go directly to Shitroen to grab the correct paint or does halfords yet again do the product.. (WTF doesnt halfords do nowadays.. aint surprised saxo's get called halfords on wheels!)
-
#10They stock alot of paint and mix for the colour you want too but might be best going to citroen if halfords are gonna mix.
-
#11Grabbed my quartz silver straight off the shelf, no mixing needed, doing mine satin black soon as it looks the sex
-
#12Im going to be painting mine black, I have a black car so would i need to get the same colour as my car or will satin black do
-
#13Look for your local paint supplier, ask your local bodyshop who they use. Will be cheaper and better than Halfords and they'll sell you what you need rather than what the untrained oik behind the counter thinks you need.
-
#14For colour matching paint, leave Halfords well alone, they are rubbish best off going to Citroen with your paint code.

#16this looks mint

dont know wether or not to do mines silver or black as i have a silver sax ??? -
#17i desperately need to do mine...

will i just need wet and dry paper, a can of primer, can of black paint...is laquer necessay? -
#18ben. your strips & front bumper are immense, considering doing it myself
-
#20I did mine last year. Its really time consuming if you want to do a good job. First prep up. Apply primer or filler primer to get rid of the texture. Next use 1200 sand paper to get a smooth shiny texture. Continue this for another 3/4 coats, and leave to dry for a good hour. Then apply 3/4 coats of gloss black. Remember apply thin coats and be carful as it drips easily. If it does its a nightmare as you have to wait for it to dry then sand it out etc... Leave to dry for a good hour then apply 3/4 coats of shiny laquer. Job done

#21I've done mine myself, rip them off and wet and dry, clean, wet and dry. Primer (leave this to dry propperly) then spray. Only problem is if they get hit, the paint flakes off like a bitch! When doing the bumpers, just mask it up with masking tape and newspaper. Hope this helps.1 user thanked this post:
