Smoothing in spoiler

  1. #1
Has anyone on here smoothed in a Mk2 spoiler onto their boot, so fill the gap round the top between the spoiler and the tailgate??

would fibre glass and filler work or do you reckon it would crack??
  2. #2
i imagine it would crack, especially as your be slamming the boot down.
  3. #3
hmm...is there any other way to do it? like weld a metal plate across the gap?
  4. #4
why would you want to do that dude?, if you want it smooth, just take it off man
your car looks great as it is.

hmmm, its just my mates dad said he would professionaly respray my boot for £65 so that i can smooth over the holes behind the badges, so thought i may aswell do lots to the boot if its getting completley resprayed, and i just thought to have the spoiler smoothed in would look good. would make it like a little lip at the top of the boot. i dont wanna take it off cos i think it looks gash without it

na bud spoilers plastic and tailgates metal, as said would probably crack when slamming it and so on, could prob be done at a bodyshop but would cost a canny bit for little impact etc. I do it last if u really want to do it still to finish the car off

It wouldn't look that great either Nick. I'd just go for the holes filled and sprayed
  8. #8
I need to do my boot soon as i have holes showing too

yeah...think i'll just do the badge holes, and gunna get rid of the boot opener bit above the number plate, smooth that and get a solenoid inside

thats the way im gonna go
