8v cambelt thread?

    are there any threads on how to change a cambelt on a 8v coz i have been reading thru the 16v one and noticed there are somethings in there that aint the same as the 8v so has anyone done one?

    8v saxo timing belts are the easiest ever lol

    Id just get a haynes and follow that, cant go far wrong.

    haynes confuses me tho coz its like take all the locking pins out of the fly wheel and camshaft sprocket before tensioning the belt???

    now to me i would tension the belt before taking the locking pins out!!!

    just get a manual mate did mine was so easy buddy

    it u did that u wouldnt tension it mate as nothink moves with the pins in it mate

    its easy with hains manual but if u know what evrythings for then just common sense. although i believer i tensioned mine with pins in and was fine so not to sure bout that 1.

    but surley if there out and the belt is loose it would slip out of time?

    mark ya old one with tipex and then mk new one in same places just triple check every thing theyre easy mine was half hour job

    tipex what were the pulleys are to the engine?

    still anyway i aint got the tensionering tool anyway am waiting on it if my mate lets me borrow
