Once you remove the actual ABS brain, or whatever it's called, the light will go out.

try fiddling with the wires under your seat

Hmm im going to try taking out all the fuses for the ABS but im sure i will still get it!

Tape is your best bet mate. Black insulation tape is invisible from the outside. And yes the LED's in mk2 dials are fitted in series so if you take one out another two somewhere won't work. Or you could desolder that one and solder a resistor in it's place but the hassle of it all you might aswell stick a piece of tape in there. lol

Did you strip back any of the loom?

I haven't touched any wiring... I know by taking the 2 fuses out does NOT turn the dash light off, as I've done that a few times during testing.

    yea a bit
    but not hugely
all i did is unplug the abs unit
    rip out all the sensors
rip out all the brake lines and make new ones
snd then where the wiring comes down to plug into the abs ecu i pulled that out

I took my ABS sensors out the other week. I followed the cables back as far as I could and then just cut them. I wonder where they plug into exactly...

i cant remember what pluge where tbh
i cut what i couldnt get to and unplugged what i could

Just had a look in the owners manual and its says in the fuse section that fuse F1 in the interior and fuse F10 in the engine bay has something to do with the ABS warning light but also temperature control unit so i cant just take the fuses out but im going to try tracing the wires back and see if i can unwire just the lamp wires and see if they will get it to go out! Will update shortly....

take the clocks out remove the cover/lense and put a little bit of blue tack over the bulb or led (depending on year of car) then rebuild and test. works every time and as its internal it cant be seen.

Everyone keeps telling me this and i probably will end up doing this just want to see if i can do it another way and if it involves taking more wires out more weight loss ftw!
