launch control

#2as far as im aware launch controll is a device wich limits the revs to a set ammount wich being the perfect for no wheelspin but perfect launch i would imagine it has somethink to do with the ecu as it controlls the revs holding it at like 4k or watever look on youtube for some videos they always help
kieran. -
#3yes. an ecu upgrade is the best way.
you can also buy the omex rev limiter with launch control -
#4has anyone ever fitted the omex rev limiter with launch control?
might give that a go if it isnt too much of a job -
#5I considered this. Then read on. I thought you would just have the throttle planted on the floor and hold the button, then drop the clutch and release the button and your away. But I read that you cant press the throttle any more than you would to hold the car at the rpm youve set. So I didnt see the point. Plus I think money was just burning a hole in me pocket at the time

#6you should be able to press the throttle 100%.....Quote:I considered this. Then read on. all it does is cut the ignition.
this is good for turbo cars as it allows boost to build so no lag off the line. -
#7i wouldnt bother, 2.7k revs on a vtr and drop the clutch lots of grip then nail the throttle
-
#83.5k on a VTR then feed the clutch in, awesome launch IMO, long as you've got good tyres.
As said, an OMEX limiter cuts ignition, so even if you've got your foot to the floor the ignition is still cut at the same time, just means you get mega loud bangs from the fuel igniting in the exhaust. -
#9and you cant use the OMEX rev limtier on a saxo... williamsvts was telling me, cant remember why not now, he may post in here.
But you would need a standalone to be able to use one on a saxo im afraid fella -
#10Dan C on 106oc managed to get it working on his 106, so can't see why it wouldn't.
-
#11hmmm i will try and find the thread, 2 secs.
Here we go http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=226510 Post #13 downwards..... -

They run off the coil, cutting the ignition like that, as opposed to through the ECU. -
#13see i have no idea wot the coil is

Not to clued up on engines tbh, just usually go off what others tell me lol -
#14could you maybe find out if he got any pics and videos??
Would liek to see them
-
#15Dont think he put pics or vids up, but I think he's sold the controller now.
The coil is the thing that plugs into the spark plugs, the launch control goes onto the wires for that. So it can cut the spark at the right time, limiting the revs. -
#16launch control = my right foot

Haven't ever needed any electronic aids yet in a peugeot / citroen -
#17surely its only really any good on turbos, id think pointless on non turbo.
-
#19This is what it says "Increase the engine RPM so that it just hits the launch rev limit. Do not use more throttle than is necessary as this can cause the engine to over fuel."
