Brake judder and gears

    Finaly got a vts. noticed wen driving that its hard to get into most gears and the clutch has to be more or less rite down to the floor, any ideas?

    Also i have some brake juddering wen im breaking but ive read this is normal with ABS however it doesnt feel right, maybe it cos im not used to the car or hav i got problems.

    sounds like a common problem, some1 must have an idea, ive read in the haynes manual that this is the ABS in operation but im not so sure lol.

    any idea what this is ? got the same problem ? not hugly worrying but noticable

    Juddering can be caused by a number of things. Disc brake run out being very common. This is when the disc is not secured to the hub flat, so as it spins it weaves in and out almost. When the caliper clamps onto this, the uneven surface will cause juddering.

    The discs might be worn to an extent where the above is happening.

    Loose caliper bolts or wheel bolts will also cause this. as well as other loose components.


    ABS juddering is one hell of a judder and you should only notice that when you SLAM on the brakes and the ABS is activated. This should not be happening under normal braking as the ABS should not be regulating the braking pressure.
