Head Gasket, Alloy/Cast Iron Block

   Hi, does any one know if there are differences between gaskets for an aluminium block engine, ie 1.4 wetcoast in comparison to my cast iron block vtr?
   
   I will be changing the gasket because its leaking out oil above the alternator (the ususal place) and I am checking on ebay for a gasket kit that comes with bolts.
   
   One guy is selling a kit for the VTR at £26.00 and another seller lists a kit at £19.00 but the decription only mentions Alloy block ie 1.1, 1.4.
   
   They look the same but maybe there are subtle differences.

   Just get the one listed for the VTR then you know have the correct one fella. Thats what i would do anyways

   The blocks are different if I'm not wrong. Don't know about the saxos, but the aluminium blocks are wet lined, whereas the cast blocks are dry lined.

   Of course, you are correct, I overlooked that, thanks. I have ordered the VTR one so cast iron block ftw. Just got me driveshafts to do after this.

   Its proper gone now, steam everywhere. Going to sort it this weekend and have a fiddle with the manifold to smooth it out a bit. I will let you know how i get on.
