Squeezing into saxo seats

  1. #1
Hey all, Ok i'm bit above 6' and when I sit in my Saxo I have the seat all the way back which is ok but my knees are still really close to the steering wheel so I had the idea of maybe thinking about a bucket seat. Would I be correct in saying one of these would maybe lower my position in the car so that my knees don't hit the steering wheel. Any ideas and who has had this problem before?
    Cheers

i think most bukets sit slightly higher tbh! well mine did anyway
  14. #14
it is a little hard with the big feet and being 6" 2 / 3 (donno havent really mesured myself) you just have to sit so you can press one pedal at a time not all 3 > with your legs open to miss steering wheel i just recline

buckets with side mounts sit quite lower than standard

    Im 5 ft 3

    Not even joking lol.

I have my seat quite far forward as you can imagine... i think ill be restricted to saxos for the rest of my life

Might depend on what buckets you get.... if not then maybe a custom frame like already said.

just over six foot, no problems, but yer, your legs have to be around the steering wheel

im 6ft 3, i found changing the steering wheel to a smaller one helped more than my bucket seat

Theres a bloke I used to no with his first car a 1.0l mischief flatarch. He was a ridiculous height of 6ft7 iirc. Had to sell up because his lankey self used to touch the headlining lol

Ok... anyway i like the idea of changing the steering wheel but i like having an airbag just in case lol. The only problem i can see is that because of the wierd rails for the seats I would have to fit attachments so bucket seats would fit and im thinking this may raise the seat height anyway?

Im 34 Stone and 8ft and I fit fine! just leave the sunroof open
  22. #22
Im 6'3 and i sit pretty far falward so it feels like im in more control. No problems what so ever

i had bucket seats in mine, runners on sub frames, and ive just changed them to back to standard seats which were retrimmed in leather. the bucket seats were actually a tad higher.

your also quite restricted in some bucket seats as the have boulder on the side to keep you in.

i would stick to you original seats, but maybe think of changing the steering wheel,

i have a momo in mine, and is such a difference compared to your standard one.

    its entighly your choice.

Yeo but I love the seats in Skylines, as in the R33 veloor (spelling? lol) ones. They aren't too bad with the boulsters but aren't like normal seats. Perfect tbh.
