clucth bearing

   hi there guys i have just got my gear box off. how can i tell if the release bearing is what to blame for the noise.

   Most likely but you might as well change the clutch and the release bearing when the box is off.

   i am replaceing the bearing and clucth. when the car was running without your foot on the clucth it made a noise with your foot on the clucth it went away is this defo the release bearing.

   Sounds like it was the input shaft not the release bearing.
