18s on a saxo??

  1. #1
do you think 18s on a saxo are stupid??
    any pics?
my cars not lowered as it is
    thanks
  2. #2
18s are stupid on saxos without a kit to match.

Even 17s look daft on OE arches
  3. #3
ive 17s on mine atm, thinking of changing to 16s!!
any pics of 18s of saxos??
  4. #4
i tried this with my first saxo was alot of trouble to get them in and wen i did i ripped the tire of one o my back wheels and it sat like a tractor and that was on a standard saxo looked good tho until i drove it ended up having to scrap the car as i ended up wid a grinder not a good idea

    wow sounds painful!!
think ill stick to my 17s and 16s
  6. #6
I would imagine they would catch on the arch aswell! especially when on full lock, could be wrong totally however
  7. #7
18s definately not, i dont think i would go much bigger than 16s either, standard arches are just too small, lots of problems with rubbing.... especially if you plan to lower it
  8. #8
I think the shape of the saxo lends itself very well to small and low.

you would also get a slower accelertation with 18s, however you would get a higher top speed...possibly!

Larger rolling radius = potential for a higher top speed. an 18" tyre even in low profile is not near the 15"profile.

If you have the same number of rotations in 1 min but one is with a larger rolling radius then the distance travelled will increase.

Distance travelled/time taken etc.....awaits lady sayer to abuse me

he did just say, gave his opinions on 18s, and what he has said is true

i have 18" alloys, and mines slammed to the floor. with low profile tyres.

how ever, the only time they scrub, is when totally on full lock.

i reckon 18" can easily fit on a saxo, but u have to be weary, on the width of the wheel.

19`s can be done, with arch modification easily!

Not to keen on 18's myself. Not on a saxo, a saxo is a tinnnny car really when you look at it. Not in proportion atall with 18's

havin 18's on youre car would make even a vtr slow as a week in the jail as it dont have the torque to make youre vtr do 100 never mind 120mph vts mite onl get 110 if its lucky

    absolute shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    my wheels aint square...
and as for torque, how about a turbo for a bit extra huh??

    quite nice that

ive seen saxos with huge wheels on them but they do have to be modded to fuck to pull it off

excactly, potential. unless you have a bazzillion bhp, the top end wont change. non??

i think some cars pull of huge wheels on a car as long as they arent the bling bling chrome wheels that rappers have on there hummers and they look tastefully in keeping with the desgn of the car.

    lol shouldn't that be vts?

Personally think 17s can look OK, but only in rare circumstances, 18s are just silly.
