im thinking its on here but not sure where is it the round bit above the manifold? -
#3that's it sitting on top of the manifold mate, the black round thing to the left of the dipstick.
-
#4call me dumb, but whtas an egr valve?
-
#5cheers sean knew youd come up with the answers
if a mk2 did not have this would it then be a 'suspected' 130bhp model i kno this may only be rumours just looking into it abit! is there any other things too look out for?

but what does it actually do
-
#8iirc the supposed 130bhp models were on X-plates and had the mounts for the egr valve but the valve itself wasn't actually fitted.
-
#9no chance of a july registered W then? its only a few month out :> i havent seen no egr valve werebouts would these mounts be do you kno?
-
#10you see the metal pipe which goes from the right hand side of the valve into the block? i assume there would be a blanking plate of some sort. apart from that i'm not sure mate.
-
#11ok matey dont think ive seen anything like that just was wondering really! thanks
-
#12EGR Valve is because of anti-polution regulations.
EGR Valve just put air from the manifold to the intake again, reusing the "air"... Isn't definatly good have EGR valve in your cars. It just take life duration of your motors. In my Pug 206 hdi, mine is off
sorry the bad english -
#13why would it decrese the life of your engine? it shuts off after 30 odd seconds
-
#14is it good to remove it?
would you see any results? -
#15results? no it just gives extra space.
-
#16do mk 1 vtr's hav an egr valve? if so where?
-
#17no
-
#18I know this is an old topic but I was just wondering if the egr valve will have to be removed if you get an aftermarket manifold. Also would it cause any problems removing the valve.
cheers.

#19Anyone?
-
#20no problems with removing it, i think you just need a blanking plate and to remove the fuse for it
-
#21ok cheers sean. do you have to remove it if you want a aftermarket manifold?
-
#22i would imagine so
-
#23ok, cheers again.
-
#24why dont you trial fit your manifold and see, most manifolds go nowhere near it since the EGR valve sits on top of the head and the manifold fits to the bottom.
-
#25ah, I thought the valve was attached to the manifold (dont I look stupid
) cheers ratty. I will be getting a supersprint manifold so hopefully that will fit.
