Airbag Light

    Fitted GTI Interior, and happened to see that in the guide it says about using ohms resistors to stop the airbag light coming on,

    Just tired this and had no effect.

    Any ideas?

    I have put a GTI Interior in my saxo so the pretensioner wires are unplugged, in the guide on here, it says about using resistors

    Its either a dodgy connection on the plugs,or as i`ve recently found someones soldered the orange wires up wrong.Which i`m sorting out next week using Citroen`s approved fix part number 948801 its called a solder tube basically you strip the ends of the 2 wires your joining insert either end into the tube & in the middle theres a piece of solder that you heat up to form a connection.

    so you can buy a solder tube that will join both wires together, tricking it?

    if your local garage has got an electronic fault reader (Sykes Pickavant) they can just plug it in and clear the faulty code, thts wat i did on mine

    Clearing the fault codes only a temporary fix,the problems still there & will come back.

    If theres a break in the wiring the solder tube will enable you to rejoin the wires thus making the circuit again which will turn the airbag light off.So is not really tricking it.

    The orange wire under my seat is split i have two wires blue and brown. they have also been stripped back, so this solder tube joins these together?

    You will probablies find that the airbag light will come on in most cars, theres a few ways you can overcome this

    Tape over the light by accessing the dial pod
    Take out the bulb on the dial pod (this isn't recommended on mk2 saxos with smd leds instead of bulbs as the leds run in series of 3, so if you take one out two others wont work)
    Disconnect the airbag ecu located on the transmission tunnel under the carpet
    You can also use a 2ohms resistor to link the two wires that are in the pretensioner wire together, so it loops back on itself
