they are a method of locking the bonnet down in position like used on racing cars etc.

So when you raise the bonet abit it locks it in place? why do people do that aswell, for more aerodynamics i assume? Sorry but i dont know much about this subject

Bonnet pins mainly for the look but some fiberglass/ carbon fiber bonnets dont have the latch so you have to use bonnet pins,
Raisers - extra cooling, people think they look good? i personally dont though!

Extra cooling :O Hmmm lol dont c how raising the bonet allows it to cool that much more than if it was down, obviously abit but i wudnt do that to my car (if i had a vtr/vts).

i wouldnt ever use bonnet raisers but perhaps if i had a carbon fibre bonnet i would want it strapped down properly so i didnt get a face full of it down the motorway lol

i liked my bonet raisers for the reason that my throttle bodies were just on view once the scuttle had all been cut away
