  1. #1
Ok im definatly buying a top strut brace for my mk1 saxo. I am aware there is bonnet clearence issues with the mk1 saxo and some strut braces. Can someone give me a link to a website i can get a strut brace that fits, maybe they have bought there own from there, With no bonnet clearence issues. I dont want to buy one that dosent fit.

    Cheers, lloyd.

mk1's only have trouble with the omp brace. all you have to do is take the bonnet strut off and leave it in the car instead of clipping to the bonnet. thats the only issue it has.

Yes, but as i said before you need to remove the bonnet stand thing that clips to the underside of the bonnet (2second job) and leave that in the car.

So how does the bonnet stay cliped down if u take the mechanism out that holds the bonet in place?

The bit that holds the bonnet up so it doesn't fall on your head.

does anyone know if the sparco ones fit a mk1 alright?
or is it the same situation?

I can vouch for Sparco on a Mk1. You will need to remove the fuel emergency cutt off swith thing. This is easy though, lots of guys say that if you arte fitting a top brace you might as well got the whole hog and do the lower set up as well. If yoiu loo on ebay there is a company in Belgium or somewhere that does both for a very reasonable price. There upper looks the same design as the Sparco as well.

Heres an item number: 400010518340 , they are £70.00 delivered for upper and lower.
