#2plenty of people use it but i haven't, seems to look really good and alot of bikers use it on superbikes etc
-
#3just bought some 6mm white tape.
-
#4its not too bad. just bit fiddley but once its stuck its alrate, just be caustious when cleaning so you dont catch the edges and start to peel it back off. cheap as chips tho to buy some more.
-
#5is it hard to keep it the same distance from the lip all the way round and i take it would be best to take the wheel off first?
-
#6did mine with wheels off, if your get it in the right inchage shouldnt b too difficult to keep it all in line. mite need a bit of patience ;-)1 user thanked this post:

#7yeah im getting some for my vtr alloys..the tape you can get from bikeshops as the bikers use it on there bikes..apparently it isnt too hard to fit but take the tyres off..so im gonna take the wheels off and do the rim tape aswell as doing the claipers.
-
#8piece of piss just done mine. got bucket loads in one order from egay, enough for 8 wheel for a fiver, easy to put on, and look the dogs imo, will get picks of mine up

#12Sounds like a nice cheap way to change the look of your car. Unfortunately with things like this everybody jumps on the band wagon and the next thing you know you have a fashon disaster like with 3 spokes, M3 mirrors and Lexarse rear lights. (Am I showing my age lol....

#13Links to said rim tape off egay?

#14http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/9mm-wheel-stri...3%3A1|294%3A50
thats the 1 i got! -
#15the people i know who have put rim tape on their bikes do it with the wheel on and turn the wheel as they are applying the tape so that it is applied evenly. with the wheel on a stand free moving
-
#16instead of using the tape, would look better is you painted the lip on the alloy, more stylish in my view, but personal preferrence i guess...
-
#17rim looks pretty good imo, fairly difficult to get a 'perfect' finish however unless you get right down by the wheel, you don't really notice any imperfections.
just friggin annoying when you get new tyres as it f*cks the rim tape. Its a nightmare to take it off too, its like taking wallpaper off, it either comes off in tiny little bits or loads comes off at once. -
#18i was gonna put it on my motorbike before i put it on my car lol
i knew a fair few bikers with it on and they swear by the stuff,
at Hein Gerike (motorbike shop) you can get an applicator that can be used on car wheels that has a lip that runs along the inside of your wheel so it goes on smooth and in the right place
