xsi box

   helloww my fellow saxoers,
   
   iv got a mk2 vts and i was wondering if 1.3 ralley, 1.4 xsi and 1.6 xsi boxes are all the same??
   
   i heard that they were a better ratio is this true??

   the 1.3 rally ish shorter final drive
   the 1.4 xsi is next in length
   then the 1.6 rallye and 1.6 xsi are next with the same fd irc
   
   the main box ratios are the same its the final drive that differs from what i understand

   the shorter boxes give better acceleration so its will give better feel in gear as itll pick up faster
   
   there all shorter than a vts box

   essentially shorter ratio's because of the final drive which mean top end in each gear is reduced, but the acceleration benefits outway that.
   
   the s2 rallye and 1.6 xsi boxes are a tiddly bit shorter than a VTS box, difference is minimal but if you get one on the cheap then it's worth going for as a replacement for the S box.

   Sayer: so really if you're looking to benefit from swapping the VTS box to have any really noticeable difference you'd be looking at the 1.4 xsi or 1.3rallye box then really in reality?

   or a 1.1 box (which is pretty much the same FD as a 1.4XSI)

   haha it's just the 1.1 diff is made of cheese and the gear ratio's are naff. but take out the FD and lob into a VTS box, and you've got yourself a cheapo 1.4XSI box.

    and thats what ill be doing. got both boxes so my 1.1 will have a vts finaldrive ratio lol. i hope you dont have to muller anything to get the fd off.

    I've never understood the high price for the xsi boxes compared to the 1.1's but it's because their are two different fitments really. so you could have an early 1.1 FD and it will not fit your late VTS box or visa versa.

    thats the wrong way round you want the 1.1 final drive in the vts box

    i think my 1.0 has a vts box on and its a fucking joke
