Tuning vts!

   Im converting my vtr to a vts soon as got the engine on the way. Looking at tuning it abit more in the future. Anyone ever heard or used these

   I would probs spend about 1k max in more tuning. Would i be able to build a low boost but reliable turbo setup fitting my self and sourcing the right parts? Would ecu need mapping for turbo setup? It will have usual breating mods when the engine goes in but would like to do abit more in the future.

   Hiflow heads = No No imo
   
   And get some breathings mods, and if you can stretch some PH3s and a remap, that should see you to around 150bhp
   
   
   And dont forget, weight = the enemy, so the more you can lose the better
   
   
   A good low boost turbo set up is usually around 3k
   
   But people have done it for as low as £600 etc, but i wouldnt if it was me.

   Ye the car is already stripped out, etc. Would like 180bhp.

   Just found dp engineering turbo setup but is in euro's. Heard theyre probs the best for turbo kits. This seems a good set up tbh. Garrett turbo, etc. all the parts needed part from intercooler.

   Looks a little sparse from the picture.
   
   And 200bhp isnt too hard to achieve on a VTS with a turbo.

   I wouldnt mind throttle bodies because like the noise but turbo would be good but costs alot of money lol. And would need 3k+.

   Id just concentrate on getting the engine in first mate, make sure youve got a buffer fund as things will always go wrong in some areas and youll need to replace things. Also it makes sense to replace the clutch etc as the box is off but it gets expensive

    Well its only done 33k engine and box has done 77k i think as engine from a vts and box off a 106 gti. but both off same guy. Well im in need of unlocked ecu, rad and fans, mani, top engine mount.

    If your seriously thinking of getting cams or forced induction later on it would make sense to change the engine mounts to group N jobbies during the conversion too, save hassle later on.
    
    Ryan MT sells ECUs for a good price. Rad and fans come up on ebay a lot, just make sure you see the goods before you pay as theres a lot of rip off merchants on there as I discovered.
    
    Again the mani you may aswell get an uprated one whilst its off.

    Again a good idea to uprate at the same time but not as much so as the other parts as theyre much more work to fit.

    if you plan on going boost or bodies choose the cam choice and ECU now.
    
    Long term it will save you alot of money in mapping costs etc..

    Well would be having mani, miltek system which already have on now and either raceland enclosed or similar for induction and may look at cams in the future. I see alot of people go for 708s or ph3s? I use my car everyday but i am looking at starting to do trackdays when get the engine in and bigger brakes up front.
