Alloy wheel Bolts...

  1. #1
Tried to test fit my alloys today...
Realised immediately that the saxo bolts dont fit down the hole to even get to the threadof the car...
Obviously I need new alloy wheel bolts...
How do you know that the head of the bolt will fit down the hole?
How do you know how long the bolt needs to be?

Is it worth just taking the wheel to Halfrauds and asking then to test fit a few bolts? Does halfrauds sell alloy wheel bolts?

    INPUT APPRECIATED...

most threads and heads are the same except in extreme cases.. are you saying the bolts are not long enough! maybe your wheels are totally wrong fitment for the car...any pic's

i think i understand what you mean, the head of the vtr bolt is too wide to go down the hole in the alloy? if so you need to go to a car parts shop and get some bolts that use either a big allen key or torx bit inisde the head to tighten them (everything included). the thread size you need is 12 x 1.25.

hope this is of some use?

What wheels are you putting on matey? Any pics of the bolt holes?
Genuine Citroen wheel bolts are flat seated and will only fit genuine Citroen wheels.
You need tapered seating (V-Shaped bottom) alloy wheel bolts in 12x1.25 thread size.
Are you using spacers? If so, you'll obviously need longer bolts too.

Now, depending on what wheel you are putting on, will determine what type of wheel bolt you need. Thread pattern will always be the same for the Saxo, but if you have very narrow holes in the wheels (ie: a socket wont fit around them) you will need whats known as 'tuner style' wheel bolts (Hex or Star type where you get an extra key that goes inside them). You can get these from anywhere half decent. Probably not Halfords if I'm honest. If they will take a socket around them, 17/19mm, then normal alloy wheel bolts will suffice.
