VTR-VTS head swap?

   Hi tried searching for this, but is it possible to swap a VTR head for a VTS head, then with a VTS exhaust fanimold and a remap, and have yourself a VTS engine?
   
   In other words is the block/gearbox the same between the VTR/VTS engines and only the head and exhaust/intakes that are different? Im thinking about cheaper things than buying whole VTS engines, or VTS cars.

   VTR and VTS engines use different pistons, VTS ones having cut outs.
   
   Trying to get it to work is more expensive than just buying a complete 16v engine really
