Fitting mk2 rear lights....

  1. #1
Am I being a complete numpty?

Recently bought these rear smoked jewels for my mk2 VTR-

From Deviant Styling, £66 all delivered.

Problem is, there's no way of securing the bulbs into the lens- my old lights had screw in parts fitted like this molded in -

but the new holes are completely smooth-

Apart from this, both the old and new cases are exactly the same inside, except not only do the bulbs not hold securely in the new one, the fog lights wont even fit inside now as the holes are not deep enough!

I finally managed to speak to someone from Deviant this morning who said it must be an issue with my cars lights as opposed to the new lenses, but I get the feeling Im being fobbed off....

Am I missing something completely obvious? I would gladly accept having the piss taken out of me if it meant being pointed in the right direction, as right now I've got 2 new lights gathering dust in my kitchen whilst Im still riding round with sh*tty lexus' on the rear!

    Old ones

    New ones

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately mate the light loom you have on your rear lights is a specific one for your lexus lights.

You need to get hold of a set of the actual circuit boards for the OEM rear lights. I think Ive got a spare set somewhere, if I can find em could do em for a tenner posted?

isn't it the same board as the original lights would use?

Yes mate I'd gladly take you up on that offer

Once I get the OEM circuit boards are they fairly easy to fit from there? Any further bits/tools I'd need from there?

Once you know if you have them or not, let me know and I'll PM you for address/further details etc.

    Thanks bud

put bulbs in the board, clip in the wiring plug, then the board just clips into the lights!

Cheers guys- just need to get my hand on a couple of circuit boards now!

The car came with the Lexus's already on, the previous owner must have chucked the circuit boards when he changed over the lights....

Thanks for the advice (and for not taking the piss ha ha)

i fitted these yesterday, same ones as yours, except cheaper ,once you have the bulb circuit holder you just clip it into the lens and screw it onto your car
    simple as

deviant are right,my lights which are the same although they were off ebay have the same smooth edges,i just removed the bulb holder from my old lights and placed it in the new lens
