Odd one. Sleeve cat, to fit cat back?

Took apart the exhaust after it snapped into two last night, only to find the cat is not an open flange type joint but a sleeve... a bit like this:

Well I've just ordered a catback supersprint system and I'm currious if whether fitting a U-clamp over the top of the cat and the connection between the supersprint system will fix the too together or will the cat not fit inside the supersprint tube.

The reason I ask before the system arrives (and find out for myself) is purely due to the fact I'm carless at present and would rather get everything fitted in one day.

I have a feeling it's not going to fit, but would like the heads up from anyone in the know before I spend anymore money

True, I've just checked the cat again and the pipe does reduce significantly in diameter where it enterred the cat link pipe (i thought the cat link pipe got slightly larger ). I'll wait for the delivery and worry about it then, cheers for the quick reply fossie.

if both pipes are the same size gat a sleeve that will fit over both or if your lucky like me take it work and get one of the pipes swelled and slotted or reduced

Cheers. The saxo exhaust tube diameter is 2 inches isnt it? (50.8mm) Will definetly be needing a sleeve now. Exhaust arrived today, blooming quick delivery from Kam
