how long to have a VTS box off?

    hi guys how long does it roughly take to have a box off a VTS? also what needs doing to remove it etc?

    any input will help, need to get mine done and am willing to change it myself!

    just to remove? about 1 hour
    take battery and filter box off,
    take wheels off,
    remove ball joints from hub
    undo gear linkages
    undo drivers drive shaft retaining nuts,
    pull drive shafts out box (catching oil )
    remove clutch cable
    remove sensors
    undo rear gearbox mount
    undo gearbox bolts (leaving 1 in)
    undo top gearbox mount
    remove last gearbox bolt
    remove gearbox

    itll be alot easier as half the stuffs missing on my car mate, and u dont have to take so much care with it

    couple of hours for a first timer tbh....

    cool. i always thought these cars were a pain to work on and it was a engine out jobbie. is there anything else worth replacing while im there? release bearing etc?

    im having my S box fitted tomorro and im having clutch done aswell for good measure...

    for the sake of 40 odd quid its well worth it imo...

    ok, apparently my vts had a new clutch when i bought it and it bites half way up. if it is a minor 3 hour job then i might leave the clutch for now?
