am i right in saying hubcentric bolt onto the hub, and the wheel bolts onto the spacer, whereas the other type just go between the hub and the wheel and you use longer wheel nuts?

and why do some have lots of holes which are random shapes like this:
are the ones below where you use longer wheel nuts?

    and

    and is this then hubcentric?

But I thought Hubcentric spacers have the lip around the inner hole so the wheel can sit over.

The random holes are universal spacers so you can use them on different fitment wheels (4x100, 4x108 etc etc)

You need longer bolts with anything over about 5mm really.

sureley you dont need longer bolts with the spacers like in my last picture as the standard bolts go into the spacer instead of the hub, and the other bolts which attatch the spacer to the hub come with the spacer?

also in the top 2 i dont see how the nuts would sit flush as there is no indent for the head of the nut to go into?........is this because the top 2 use longer nuts whereas the bottom one just bolts onto the hub?

Aslong as the fitments/sizes are correct you can use them on any wheels you want.

yes they can but they're only used to get the correct off-set of wheels, eg, if you fitting Pug 206 wheels to a saxo/106. you'll need 10-15mm spacers to achieve the correct off-set.

off-set is the amount (mm) that the contact face is off set to the centre of the wheel.

the offset on my wheels is actually et16, so i could get some 10mm spacers to make it et15, or even 20mm so my wheels sit right out in the arches....reckon it could look better

    mine are hubcentric

see the lip that the wheel sits on ?
  9. #9
ohhh are yours the top ones?
but i want the ones which screw into the hub, then the wheels screw into the spacer
  10. #10
    yeah mine are top ones

oh right, i never liked them, 8 bolts instead of 4, more weak spots. and the hub spacer is made from steel, as you cant screw into ali, so the bolt on ones are very heavy, not good for your unsprung weights and handling.

I maybe wrong here but if your wheels are et16 and you add 10mm spacers the new offset will be et6, wont it?

I always thought that the size of the spacer should be deducted from the original offset for example a Ford fitment wheel with an offset of et38 will be et 18 with a 20mm spacer and will therefore fit a saxo.

Bolt on spacers are far superior to the cheap extended bolt spacers in my opinion.

I would never use the non bolt on spacers for anything over 15mm.
