removing seats to carpet

   hi there.
   having my NOS kit fitted soon and was thinking about removing the rear seats and laying a silver or silver embroided carpet through from the boot up to the foot wells. doin it so i can situate the nos bottle a bit closer to the front seats.
   does anyboddy know what i could use to level things out so that the carpet looks totally flat?

   most people make a template out of wood (mdf i think)
   or you could use checker plateing
