    I would have a go.

Would make sure i had European breakdown cover first. Just incase.

Give it a good service and a once over before you go and it should be fine.

Hi, I went to italy last year and drove a rental car, volvo estate. To be honest I wouldnt take my own car as you can get banged into very easily as they are all abit mad...

if you have a good saxo with a good fan on the front of it that kicks in when needed i couldnt see it not being able to make the journey.

True, its just...well Naples is manic, eg 16 rows of cars queing for 4 rows of traffic with no white lines. Leaving the airport i got nudged 4 times in about 6 mins as a way of telling me to hurry up and do the same to the cars in front!
