is it ok to just buy some springs to lower my saxo 1.1 or do i need to buy dampers aswel?

How low are you thinking of going mate? Ideally it would be better to include the uprated dampers with any setup, however, you'll probably be alright upto -40mm without them is what most people say.

anything over 40mm it needs shocks as well mate
personally i would save your money and get the shocks saves money on labour charges in the long run.
when a car is lowered the standard shocks get some major abuse and they dont tend to last long anyway
