#7hi have been told this will go in to the air filter ?
-
#8is it this pipe here that i have circled on my engine...

EDIT - if so then yes it needs to route into somewhere behind the filter like so....
-
#9i just went out side and it is sucking air when i put my finger over it the car cutts out any idear ? help please
-
#10yes that is the pick thanks mate i have a upgraded air filter wot do i do ? :O)
-
#11what is connecting your filter to the throttle body??
if you have some kind of hosing on there you can put a hole in and fit it into there.
If you just have the filter straight onto the throttle body then look to get a 90degree bend like i have and get a hold put in it.
Tbh it wont do loads of harm having it bare, its just the vacuum pipe for the ICV.
for the mean time you could allways get a breather fitler put on there...... -
#12that pipe is the Air intake for the Idle control valve.
It is a small electronic unit that lets a bit of air by pass the throttle bodie just like touching the throttle does, but it is controlled by the ecu electronically and controls the idle.
You need to plum it back into the filtered air supply so not dirt or shit gets sucked into your engine chap
-
#13would it make the car run any diffrent ?
-
#14Possibly.
You dont want to get any shit in that pipe though mate. be careful
-
#15i had mine disconnected for around 2 months and it sumtimes reved itself when in trafic, for the amount of air ti would suck in it would not cause and serious damage, infact it probs wudnt do much at al for a little while.
obviously if you just left it off forever it would eventualy cause problems.
like i said, get a breather filter on there for the time being, can get them from halfords cheap enough.
but try and get it in behind the air filter somehow like i have on my pics
