etch primer!!!

   im refurbing a set of alloys at the moment and ive been told i need to use etch primer, do i just use that then paint or do i have to use etch then normal primer before paint?

   etch primer is just special primer for alloy metals/ galvanized surfaces. you etch them then top coat. but normal primer would be ok.

   acid 8 is what i would reccommend

   isnt etch primer to stop corrosion occuring and bubbling the paint and then you apply normal primer to that?

   we use etch primer at work on galvanized jobs, we never put normal primer on afterwards
