#3Get one off ebay for about 15 nug. Shitroen want £48
-
#4mountain bike gear cable is exactly the same and 3quid. there is about 3 times too much cable there which you just cut off as you would on a citroen cable
-
#5Mountain bike cable have like a little round flat surfaced thing on end dont they? How do they fit?
-
#6same fitting as the white clip thats on the throttle pedal
i always use them they are almost identical ends to the citroen throttle cables
-
#7How do you put the end back on when youve cut it into two parts though?
-
#8you dont need to cut anything? pull the cable through into the car. remove the cable from the white clip on the throttle pedal.
clip in the new cable onto the clip on the throttle.
feed through the bulkhead
measure up the, length cut it
screw on the throttle retension bar that slots onto the throttle body

-
#16cheers peeps!!! just ordered them!!!
-
#17has anyone got a pic of this universal cable or a guild as im doing it tomorrow and might make a How to if i know how to do it.
-
#18It's pretty much a metal cable with a brass nipple held on by a screw on one end (TB end) and a soldered on nipple on the other end which clips into a White clip at the end of your throttle pedal
-
#19shitrioen such bumps 48 quid they would rob an old women for money!
-
#20so would a normal vts throttle cable work?
-
#22old thread i know but will the mountain bike cable work on a 106 gti ?
-
#23you can use rope and have it come in the window if you want lol.
my mate used bike brake for the clutch so it should be easy enough to do it for the throttle. (yes he is mad and cheap lol and the cable snaps all the time lol) -
#24haha my cable has snapped twice in about 3months in 2 different places so i want a cheaper alternative lol
-
#25id be more inclined to look for the cause of the problem tbh.Quote:haha my cable has snapped twice in about 3months in 2 different places so i want a cheaper alternative lol
2 cables in almost as many months points more to an issue with the route than the cable, its not catching on anything in the bay etc? -
#26nope , the 1st cable was the original cable an snapped down by the pedal , the 2nd which snapped last night was a pattern part which had to be cut to size etc , an it snapped right on the knuckle on the throttle body
