mk1 vtr manifold on mk2 ????

   Sorry if its been covered but searched and couldnt find anything.
   
   i want to de cat my mk2 vtr wih cat in the mani. BUt i dont want to spend lots of money on a stainless manifold etc at this time.
   
   Will a mk1 vtr mani fit on ? if not is there any other options ?

   i looked into this a little while back, iirc there might be issues with the oil filter (but it might just fit)

   shouldn't be an issue with the standard manni on a Mk1 as it would be thinner because thers no cat on it? cant be sure doh

   IIRC all 8v manifolds should fit all 8vs... and the same for 16v manifolds should fit regardless of phase.
   
   It just depends on the make i think as to whether the oil filter needs relocating (e.g. raceland)

   you will need the header and the downpipe and may have to move the oil filter so it doesnt melt on the down pipe

   hmmmmm, its just cause i want to decat my mk2 vtr but cant afford a manifold just now. so thats why im after a mk1 vtr mani to try it.

   iv been thinking about this too, if the mk1 mani clears the oil filter on mk2's couldnt you just heatwrap it to be sure it doesnt melt it?

   i think the oil filter relocation thingy is quite cheap anyway so might be worth while just getting that aswell i guess.

    citreon do the bits o u can put the filter like the mark one.
    The Oil Filter Insert - 1103A7 @ £2.07 excl VAT
    The MK1 Oil Filter - 1109N3 @ £2.95 excl VAT
    direct from citreon, should be able to fit manifold no worries.

    think it works out just over a tenner with vat, but ye its nothin really m8.
    prob find a manifold cheap in local breakers,
    so shouldn be to much really

    will change the sound as theres no cat in the system. as for performance its still restrictive so dout you will see any gain really. im just doing it cause my cat is done and i want a decat.

    Im lookin to put a mk2 manifold nd downpipe on my mk2, nd change the oil filter like u say, but wot do u do about the o2 sensors? Will the engine management light kum up, and change the fuelling ect?
