wide band lamba

just a quick question, does the controller log data that can be later pulled of on a computer.

If so does it need an rpm feed so it knows at what revs it is lean/rich.

Or is it all done in real time

with the 'Predator Ecu' and innovate wideband you can datalog with a large amount of parameters including revs, afr, coolant temp, duty cycle, tps, mat etc.

hoping to get one in next few weeks so can get mf2 spot on, but its hard to watch the gauge and adjust ect whilst in motion.

does it just log saying the afr ratio or is it rpm and afr ratio if you get what I mean

yeh it basically outputs a huge table with all the variables across the top (columns) and then time is down the rows, and you can produce graphs from that showing rpm vs. afr

i went down the diy route and built my own wideband. look for "Jaw wideband" on google.

Ryan can you map standard ecus?
  10. #10
alex - yes he can i think now he is pretty nifty with the wiring etc

It should be more a case of taking the standard eeprom out, soldering a proper DIL socket in and writing custom maps to a blank eeprom and fitting it?!

I'm interested in how it's done

alex, thats pretty much it. The manual bit.. fitting the chip holder etc (its not dil btw) isnt too bad if you have pro soldering gear. Editing the existing map, correcting the checksum then fitting it is very very hard and its not something ive properly cracked yet. Live mapping is even harder and requires some custom kit and a brain that works in hex.

Ive got a tuned map i put on ecus if people ask for it but ive not done my own yet

    anyway..back on topic lol

I had looked into it thoroughly and decided i couldn't be arsed and standalone was the way forward lol Good to see someone went to the effort of really doing it though! I presume you bought the software?

    On topic? Pah!
