i would like 17's on my saxo. it lowered 40mm. will it change the speedo? will i make any difference to the car? thanks

to find out how much the speedo will change use a calculator on the net such as:

    http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

it will convert the % difference between the stock and new tyres and wheels and will tell you how far out your speedo will be.

as for actually fitting the 17s, from what ive read on here i think it is possible but you will need to do some work on the arches. not 100% sure what work needs to be done bt im sure someone on here will be able to help you with that part.

Not overly sure but my friend thinks his Speedo isn't correct and again I'm not sure if he has had work on the arches but his 17's make the turning circle awful lol, look nice though.

16's are about the limit for driving problem free.
17's will probably rub at full lock if you're not doing any mods to the arches.

17s are a bit to big really, a friend has them on a standard vtr and it rubs badley on full lock and with people in the back
    better off with 15/16's

I use to 'roll on 17s', but the performance was really shit, so i've put 15"s on and its miles better.

IMO 17's too big for saxos..

    I'm down about 45mm

and they used to rub whenever i had people in the back or on full lock.

i think it does make your spedo say your going slower than you are. but can you have 17s on a saxo and lower it ......... i want to put some on mine but i dont know if i have people in the back will they rub ? thanks joe

yeah, if you get the right offset etc you can fit 17"s without rears rubbing, may take abit of arch work.

I have 19"s on my saxo and they are fine

i wouldnt bother with anything over 16s tbh every bump they scrub to death you usually have to remove the arch liner then rust will set in and it aint a good look imo

get 15's!! 17's will be a ballache and and the ride (which is already bad enough) will be made more IMO. 15's for performance, 16's for look/performance and 17's for showing off is my rule of thumb.

saxo is too small to have 17's imo, 16's maximum but i recon 15's look best not too big not too small
