this is odd... and tapping ?!

    right, jumped in the car after work today, and realised i had one bitch of a lumpy idle and when i was driving the car would jump like a twat! first thought was right "IDV" clean it up and try later... anyone got home whilst parking up, i heard a tapping... comes in around 1.7Rpm - 2k,rpm then goes again over 2.5k ... so cant be big ends or tappets, right ? from my xperience, they kicked in around 3K and got louder untill i stoped revving.

    anyway, left the car to cool down, then left it to idle for 10-15 mins, everything seemed fine, no bounce or anything. ... give it a rev, the Tapping is even louder.

    fucking strange part is, i cant hear it when revving outside of the car, but sitting in the drivers seat its a sod... but nothing in the car to possible rattle, sounds like tis comming from behind the clocks and between the inlet mani.

    any ideas ? this is a first ive heard of this

    *engine is standered 1.1 Desire, other than The Big 3 for Install*

    check the exhaust system first mate, the exhaust heat shied might be rattling against the cat or manifold under the car, maybe a bolt or something has fallen down behind the engine nd got stuck could be a number of things thogh jus get cheking tomoz im sure you will work it out.

    back to work on Tuesday, first thigns first on the ramp as Exhaust is currently blowing from down pipe... check entire system and look for anything loose.
