any1 explain this ?

   i was parked up to a saxo yestarday both vtr's and both what i thought mk1's just noticed a few differences my grill where the lights are was kinda small and low down whereas the other one was more like a smiley grill but still standard as far as i could tell also the side repeaters were yellow on my vtr but white on the other one
   mines a R reg but 99% sure the other one was a T reg
   any1 know why my saxo has a crappy grill ?

   your car has the earlier grille. There were 2 phases of mk1, yours and the phase 2 with smiley grille. As for the side repeaters, they vary with model also they are a very simple thing to change so could have been possibly changed.
   
   I believe the cross over was on the 1998 - R reg. My old car was an R reg and had the smiley grille

   The mk2's have a smiley grille,its more curved and rounded..but the mk1's are more square. The side repeaters you can change mate,,you can have whatever colour you want, aslong as youve got the correct bulb inside so its legall.

   perfect mate a dont like ma grill at all lol looks shitty will see about getting it changed thanks for clearing it up though

   I didnt know that therre was 2 phases of the mk1..sorry ramsey.

   they are really simple to change on them, just pop out the indicators and undo the 3 10mm bolts on top and the whole thing should slide out. then, if you want to, its simple to mesh it too. - easier than the mk2 anyways
