    Hi guys,

    Y0 1132
    A22
    BOSCH 54

Can anybody let me know which type of pad i need? Type 1 or 2? dont think its 3 as it came off a xsara..

    http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=139153

I would really appreciate a reply asap as i need to get these fitted and new pads ordered/fitted before FCS this weekend!

Cant stomach the vts setup any more, it really is poor compared to my old ax on 266's, really isnt up to the job on track i dont think !

    Many thanks in advance!

The funny thing is my Bosch 54 calipers had OE pads in already that were type 1's. When I ordered my new ones, type 3's came and fit perfectly.

where on earth did you order your type 2 MDB21831144's from though? kam racing dont do them, gmc dont, motorsportworld dont..

    Cant find them anywhere.

    pics..

    Caliper:

    rear of pad:

    Pad facing:

thats what came off it anyway, kind of strange they have a groove in the middle as that sort of resembles the 'other' type bosch 283mm pad, however these are definatley 266mm discs so cant be.

They came off a 2002 xsara VTR, according to the breakers i bought them off.

I cant even find the correct part number on Questmead / a-pp (http://www.a-pp.com/shop/mintex_peugeot2.htm).

What is the score with these guys, need to order them today / ASAP and have them on in time for FCS tracktime this weekend!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

They are not the same calipers as mine mate, sorry.

The VTR is the 1.6 16v engine isnt it?

Have a look on the OMP website, it has a good guide for brake pads (see the Road&Sport pads) and then compare the part number to see what other vehicles they come from. Should help try and find replacement pads.

Apparently the Ferodo FDS1399 pads fit as well.

And try this link - Click
Theres a contact number so it may be worth giving Mintex a ring. (You need to click on Citroen - Xsara Coupe - 1.6 16v - Brake System - Disc Brake. It then shows you the pad and part number.)

They arent DS2500's though.. and they are a bendix caliper pad.

    Hmmm, works for me.

The phone number is 01274 854000, it appears that the part number has change from MDB2183 to MDB 2283 also. Ive had a search around and it looks like they dont do 1144's for this caliper, but Peugeot Sport do them in 1155 and 1166 guise for the 206 1.6 16v.

Just seen this on the actual mintex website..

    Mintex: MDB2183
" Status Article to be discontinued "

    "Superseded by MDB2283 "

But surely if the MDB2183 is for a 266mm disc, and as mentioned on AlexR's guide, the MDB2283 is for bosche 283mm discs.. they pads would differ in depth to suit the bigger disc but how can this be?!

The 2283 does look exactly the same as the pad that has come out of my car though!

    2283:

    2183 (DISCONTINUED)

Any help on this again, is greatly appreciated!

    Also
    Click
Part number seems to co-incide with whats in the Mintex catalgue??? Could worth asking KamRacing nicely if they could show you a pic of these pads?

EDIT: Just seen your new post, cant see a 1.4 206 having 283mm discs so must be right?

    Legend..

Will drop kev a mail now.
  14. #14
We got there in the end!

Also, Ryan (if you read this), the sticky will need changing to reflect the change in part number.

Yeah i was just going to mention that..

I know the calipers on the 283 setup are the same as the 266 but i thought the pads would be different as it states in alex's guide.. I guess that isnt the case if the pads are interchangeable according to the mintex part numbers?

Also worth mentioning that according to the mintex website / online catalogue the 2283's are only linked to:

Citroen C4 (various models + coupe)
    Citroen Picasso (various models)
Citroen Xsara (various models + coupe)
    Pug 206 (various models)
    Pug 207 (various models)
    Pug 307 (various models)

Worth a post incase people are in the same boat as me and fancy a break upgrade,. 307 and 207 brake setups are cheap enough mind.

  18. #18
ordered pads from kam racing anyhoo..

Now, which discs do i need?

19 or 22mm type? ahh, bloody french cars lol
  19. #19
daft question, but are these pads or 266mm discs or smaller? :|

    http://www.kamracing.co.uk/manufactu...-16v-2016.html

only reason i ask is that on the mintex website, for the 1.8i vtr (and 1.6 16v) it lists brakes to be 247mm NOT 266?! - that is for the MDB2283

EDIT: meh, my bad they did list a 266mm type i just didnt see it lol.

I assume i need the 22mm type disc for this though? not the 19?
  20. #20
bosch use the 22mm discs with square ended pads off 307, or round ended pads use 19mm off 306 or 206(pre 2001)
