Cost of lowering

  1. #1
Hey! Does anybody know how much it would cost if i took my 1.1 saxo to a garage to lower it 40mm if i purchased the springs myself? Just using lowering springs? It will settle an argument between me and my dad as he seems to think they will charge me £250? If anyone knows any good garages to do it in the Huddersfield area it would be a great help too?
    Thanks

depends who you are defining as pro to be honest

There are alot of well known big companies out there who will do the job but they are complete bodge merchants

If you're not aware there are 2 ways to do the torsion bars for starters (search for more details) and alot of usual garages use the quicker method which is both inaccurate and causes damage to various parts on the rear axle, they dont care about this though as its a quick buck for them

We've had 2 or 3 cars now that have come from 1 company in partifular all of which have had a complete mess made of them which we've put right

Garage prices are usually very inflated due to them not really wanting to touch the torsion bars are they claim that theyre usually seized - this is bollocks.

There are plenty of people here on this site who will do the job 100% correct and will do front and rear for under £100
