VTS Knock Sensor!?

  1. #1
Hey guys, had the vts on the machine and its come up with knock sensor which would explain why it is running so rough!

Now as its my week off im going to sort it... does anyone have a clue where the sensor is located?

I dont have a clue where to start?

Other than trying to find the knock sensor i have a brown plug on the side of the engine with nothing plugged into it? Does anyone know what this is?

    PLease Help!

    Thanks,

    Dan

VTS - It will be on the front of the block, probably hidden behind the exhaust manifold and down pipe.

knock sensor is on the back of the block in the middle. Sort of cloudy White colour.

Is it possible to change it after removing inlet manifold or I have to go deeper?

Thanks, so it's on the lower part of the engine block.

You might be able to get to it by reaching around under the inlet manifold from the throttle end, over the diff if you like.
If it's loose, or if you need to swap it, the bolt holding it on should be torqued up properly. From memory it's 20Nm/15lb-ft but check for yourself.

What Wayne says really, most of them you can simply undo the bolt once you crack it off too. they're not tight. I've always managed to change them from the top. I have only done 2 mind you!
