    any solutions?/

    wrapped mine in insulation tape

leave it off and paint the gearstick the same colour as the car or wheels or something else on the car

    or just black? lol
  4. #4
but im left with just this

its easier to just get an after market gearknob mate, they just have a couple of grub screws which secure them into place

I fitted a citroen sport gear knob at the same time of putting my short shift in, one grub screw to stop it moving on its looks and works far better than before....

but the 1st pic fitted onto the white piece but thats gone now,so the black piece doesnt fit therefore the gear knob wont

how does it not fit for example is it loose or wat more details would be helpful
  9. #9
    ok
the white piece is standard with the saxo yes.
the black piece(1st pic) was on top of that and was put on with a rubber hammer etc.
now that the white piece is gone the black piece has nothing to grip it. so its loose.

Take the black grip thing off to just leave the stick exposed. Put an adapter that came with the nob, on top of that, and then tighten the nob on with the grub screws.

Hi john what you need to do is buy a new aftermarket gear knob. Then when you open the packaging there should be 2 or 3 new plastic/rubber sleeves with it of different sizes to fit different size shafts. Pick the one thats closest to the shaft in your car and push it on. Then fit the new gear knob that came with them onto the shaft, then insert the new grub screws and tighten them up. Now it'll be fixed on nice and tight mate. Hope you get it sorted, Rez.

He only needs to buy the gear knob adaptors, doesn't need to fork out for a new knob just for those.

if all fails just wrap the shifter up in insulation tape or sumthing similar to make the shifter wider and push the knob on tight and then use the screws to tightin the knob to that
