Kent Cams...Standard Mods....? :D

hey guys its been a while since ive posted anything, i thought i was going to have 2 sell my vts due to going into the back of some silly women who decided to slam on her breaks in the filter lane of a roundabout which has now lost me my no claims but i managed to get insured for £900 (im 21 with 3 years driving 0 no claims and £27,000 pending claim on my name as its gone 2 court for her slamming her breaks on). anyway! to cut to the chase. I bought some Kent cams off the lovely sparco_tom and have now FINALLY just scrapped enough money together to get them fitted and remapped! i was wondering what bhp it would be if i just did the cams and the remap with a cat still on...standard exhaust and just a induction kit?

    Thanks sam

I would seriously advise getting a manifold and a good exhaust system before you put the cams in. This way when you get it remapped its being remapped to suit the exhaust system too. Always better to do breathing mods before camming mate.

Otherwise to get the best out of it you will need it remapping twice which will be costly and quite frankly a waste of money.

i no i no but i really cant afford 2 do that i wana keep my cat as well so theres not much point getting a manifold etc cus the cats still going to restrict it and sports cats r 2 much, could u give me any idea of power gains just from an induction kit cams and remap? and i wouldnt then go ahead to do more stuff to it cus then i would have 2 remap it again which would be a waste of money.

    Cheers

    You should see about 140hp
If the cams are 260 deg or less, the remap will be a waste of money. Just set the rev limitter to 7500-7800 and try adjusting cam timing on a dyno.
Fitting cams to an engine with no headwork is a waste of money anyway. The car will have more horsepower on paper, but will be slow in real life
