VTR starter motor wiring

  1. #1
Hi all, new to this forum today.

Replaced a mates clutch on her 99 VTR, didnt make a note of what wires went where on the starter motor.

Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction, had a search on here, found out that:

Pink wire goes to the small threaded terminal

Cable from Battery positive goes to one of the large terminals (unsure which one)

Got two green/yellow wires coming from the wiring loom at the back of the engine, not sure if these are related to the starter motor?

Any help greatly appreciated as I need to get car running right today.

    Thanks

battery negative terminal earths on the box and the car. there is a green and yellow earth off the loom which bolts on to the top of the gearbox a well.
2 further wires from the loom go to the starter, you should know which one where becuae theyre different sizes so can only go one way round, then theres the positive feed from the battery whcih goes on the bigger terminal of the starter

hello guys i need some help, i recently put in a vtr starter motor in a saxo vts and sometimes been having problems starting the car. Sometimes as i crank the engine the engine turns then immediately cuts off, then i try again and it works. With my old vts starter motor it had three wires connecting to it - two small wires and one big one from the positive terminal of the battery. However when i took out the vtr starter motor it had four wires connecting to it - two small ones, one big one from the positive terminal of the battery aswel as one from the negetive terminal of the battery.

So to make the vtr starter motor work properly in my vts do I have to add an extra wire to the starter motor and ground it to the negative terminal like how the vtr is? The vts already has a negative wire connected to the gearbox, and the gearbox is connected to the starter motor?

There's two on the main loom, one small ring connector and one big ring connector and two different threads sizes on the actual starter motor, then you have one coming off the battery live, this one also goes onto the large thread
