quick qustion

   my car has done 125,000 miles and was just wondering by changeing the cams and messing about with bits on bobs would make the engine run longer its a well looked after engine like but was thinking about adding fast cams and stuff

   well if your gunna have the head off might as well give it a good going over and get the engine out new water pump tensioner belt, give the inlet/exhaust a good clean maybe even a port and polish new seals gaskets lubricants and coolants just give it a masive overhall and you wont go far wrong
   
   if you look after somthing it tends to last a lot longer..

   to do it ya self?? with the performance cam?? maybe around the £300 mark but its well worth thinking about a conversion for that money but its up to you vtr engines are pretty cheap ya know lol its just the hassle off sourcing and doing the swich its up to you a the end of the day
