Duplex exhaust

  1. #1
I'm toying with the idea of getting a duplex exhaust.
    (I like the look, symmetrical)
Any one know of any makes that are fairly quiet. I do a lot of motorway/ dual carriage way driving at about 80 and my current back box gets quite tedious and is quite loud in the cabin.
Have no idea what it is, came on the car.
Will get pics later for id.

as in one box each side of the car

most of the systems like that are custom jobbies
im personally not a fan of them as there shit for performance but you could in theory make one thats nice and quiet
its a case of having the car and silencer ect in still

Yeah I was thinking of an exhaust on both sides of the car.

If they're all customs I might stick with the single one then

i had a powerflow double exit. was a very nice sound but did nothing for performance

Oh right.Bet it looked nice though. I'm not really after performance, would be nice to have a little more oomph :-D

You might be able to pick a peco one up from somewhere mate. But as already stated, there not very good on performance.

mark 1 & 2 are the same out back though
so if it fits a mark 1 it will fit a mark 2

Sweet, makes sense, its just the mk 2 has the cat on the manifold, shouldn't cause too many problems though should it?

I've just seen on roadrunnermotorsport.co.uk that Piper have a duplex system coming soon :-D
    What do people think??

I know every one has their own opinions but to me a duplex exhaust is just more weight, more hassle to fit and mor to clean. Personally I would prefer a nicely fitted single pipe.

Yeah I thought about that too.
It's just an idea I had, so not sure i'll go for it..

Just get a single exit exhaust, will be much better.

And i think you will have to cut the bumper / get a aftermarket bumper in order for the Duplex system to fit

    Yeah that's true.
I think I'll get a single exit one then.
The next car I get will have to have a twin one tho
