Front grile ideas?

  1. #1
    Hi.

Got a icelandic grey mk2 saxo with the whole smoked theme going on...

Basicly got a few days off so going to do some spraying etc.

Now i want to try something a bit different in terms of spraying. Heres the ideas so far:

    1) Spray the grile the same colour as car (icelandic grey) and then gloss black chevrons

    2) Outer lip of the grill icelandic grey + the chevrons. Then do the inner slats gloss

    3) Gloss black grile with just chevrons icelandic grey

    4) inner slats icelandic and the outer ring and chevrons black.

    Any other ideas?

Oh and im not meshing since i cant be bothered to leave a gash gap for the bonnet catch.

Number 1 sounds like the best idea imo, easiest too as theres no pissing about trying to stop paint spreading between outer ring and slats as they will all be the same colour.

Right, got my paint mixed up and ready to go. Not sure yet tbh tho.

Going to spray all icelandic then decide

Its ok ive gone for idea 1 first just to test.

Just done 1 coat of laquer on the mirror caps and it comes out at first as like a browny colour? Is that right? Its gone clear now but theres still some browny bits on the lips, will they go clear too?

Just noticed, is that a dimma resprayed but with the slats from a saxo mk2 grile?

Since the slats can be removed...
  22. #22
Its two grills mate, the inner bit is cut away

then the chevrons are cut out and another grill used to create one continuous slat, takes quite a bit to do as the slats are a ballache to sand
  23. #23
    which part is the chevron
  24. #24
Grill same colour with gloss black chevrons, should look nice.
