Spraying Steelies - Wet/Dry paper?

  1. #1
Ok, im going to give spraying etc. my steelies ago tomorrow and have read guides etc but just getting confused about one thing.
Obviously when preparing you have to sand them etc, but what is the difference between wet and dry sandpaper and the numbers associated with them?

Also, what numbers do I need to be looking for, and do I lightly sand after EACH coat of primer?

    Thanks,

Higher the number, the more 'fine' the sandpaper is.

As you go between layers you should be going higher and higher (to get a more fine finish at the end).

Yes lightely sand between each coat of primer (i'd say grit 400 on first layer, 600 on second, 800 on last layer of primer). Then move onto spraying your paint, then laquer.
