have vtr 99 t plate. its nippy enough for me but it feels like the power only really kicks in at 3000 revs and pulls hard to the redline. are all vtr's like this? or is there maybe a problem? or am i goin nuts?

#2thats sounds about right to me

#3Should start to drop off before the redline - you don't want to be redlining anyway.
peek rpm is 7250 iirc? somewhere along those lines. -
#4VTR only revs to 6250, so it won't be that high.
Peak torque on a VTR is about 3500 RPM IIRC, or did you mean redline, which is 6250? -
#6peak power is about 5,5k it will start dropping off after that, that if it total standard, you might have after market cams if it seem to still pull after that, also if the power dont come intil that late what say that maybe you got unrated camshaft,

#7i never redline as thats a quick way to destroy an engine. i never go above 5500.Quote:Should start to drop off before the redline - you don't want to be redlining anyway.

#10Completely off topic but DanT, do you realise your avatar is actually incorrect. Instead of a VTEC in the S2000 he had the Nissan SR20 Engine in there.
Your avatar is lies!
If you don't believe me:

#12ooooppsss.
i realise my faux pas. what i was meaning is that i've took it to the redline and not above it. so that would be 6250. my bad.
